Bi: Afghanistan Jade with Wooden Stand

One of the first sacred geometric shapes for the Daoist Community was the Bi. It is a flat jade disc with a circular hole in the center.  Historians believe that they were meant to represent heaven, or the skies. These ritual objects are often found in burial sites and are thought to represent balance, wholeness, and the interconnectedness of the physical realm.
